How to pre-long the usage time of shaker screen

Shaker screen is an expensive wearing parts for drilling field shale shaker. The proper mesh size, right way for operation and maintenance can reduce the wearing of the screen and may prolong the life time of the screens.

How to choose the right screen mesh?

Usually, when the shale shaker is first stage solids control equipment the shaker screen can be 30-100mesh. When the shale shaker is a part of mud cleaner, the screen can be 80-200mesh.

Shaker screen maintenance

1) Before every shut off, the shaker should run without any medium for 5-10 minutes, at the same time, use clean water to flush screen clean

2) Every time finish operation, the shaker frame and screen should be flushed by water (summer) or steam (winter), there should be not much sediment on shaker frame and shaker screen. Especially when the drilling mud has large viscosity and high density or screen is finer than 60 mesh. Otherwise, the particles and fine sand on screen will block screen hole, when we start shale shaker, it will decrease filtration result and lead drilling mud flow away, lose much unnecessary cost

GN SD400 Shield Drilling Mud System

 GN SD 400 shield drilling mud system adapts with shield drilling cycling system. Its handling capacity can reach up 400m³/h.

SD 400 shield drilling mud system is composed of 3 classes solids control stages. The first stage consists of GNZS83-3BF shale shaker for screening; the second and third stage consist of  ZQJ300×3 desander , ZQJ125×18 desilter, 2 sets sand pump. The installation of SD 400 shield drilling mud system

Level off the work site, set a good base. As show as figure 1 : install and fix GNZS83-3BF shale shaker & ZQJ300 ×3 desander,ZQJ ZQJ125 ×18 desilter,SLH150-50jet mud mixer. Link all manifolds ,walkways, guardrails ,ladders, etc.. Ensure all parts flexible and on good condition. Connect mud tanks, het mud mixer, and the up& down manifolds. Connect all the solids control equipment control circuit connectors. Connectors for jet mud mixer is linked by air connectors with electric panel 2. 

Maintenance of SD 400 shield drilling mud system

All equipments on the tank should keep clean while used. All sand, water of the tanks should be piped out. Let out mud of sand pumps,pipes,educators.

Be careful to the quality of equipments while transportation.

Brandt Cobra 4-panel shale shaker

One of our clients have two drilling rig NOV Ideal 1500 hp with BRANDT Cobra shale shaker, he inquired many companies for replacement shale shaker adapts the same shaker screen with Cobra shale shaker. He had not got satisfactory solution. While they tend to GN, they did.

Two Motor Mechanical Scroll Drive System

The two motors both controlled by independent variable frequency drives (VFD), and the main motor connected a hydrodynamic coupling, to keep it safe, and if there are something wrong, the connection with main motor and the bowl will be intermitted.
The hydrodynamic coupling is used to keep the bowl and the motor same speed or with same rate. Electric motor is firmly connected to the pump section of the hydrodynamic coupling, therefore they run at the same angular velocity. Similarly, operating device is stiffly connected to the turbine section of the hydrodynamic coupling, and they run at the angular velocity.

How Wells are typically drilled?

The conventional process of drilling oil and gas wells uses a rotary drill bit that is lubricated by drilling fluids or muds. As the drill bit grinds downward through the rock layers, it generates large amounts of ground-up rock known as drill cuttings.

Oil and gas wells are constructed with multiple layers of pipe known as casing. Traditional wells are not drilled from top to bottom at the same diameter but rather in a series of progressively smaller-diameter intervals. The top interval is drilled starting at the surface and has the largest diameter hole. Drill bits are available in many sizes to drill different diameter holes. The hole diameter can be 20" or larger for the uppermost sections of the well, followed by different combinations of progressively smaller diameters. Some of the common wellbore diameters are: 17.5", 14.75", 12.25", 8.5", 7.875", and 6.5".

After a suitable depth has been reached, the hole is lined with casing that is slightly smaller than the diameter of the hole, and cement is pumped into the space between the wall of the drilled hole and the outside of the casing. This surface casing is cemented from the surface to a depth below the lowermost drinking water zone. Next, a smaller diameter hole is drilled to a lower depth, and another casing string is installed to that depth and cemented. This process may be repeated several more times. The final number of casing strings depends on the regulatory requirements in place at that location and reflects the total depth of the well and the strength and sensitivity of the formations through which the well passes.

Historically, wells were drilled to be relatively vertical and were completed at a depth to intersect a single formation. Thus, one full well was required for each completion. Modern technology allows modifications to several aspects of this procedure, thereby allowing more oil and gas production with less drilling and less waste generation. The following sections describe how drilling can be done to intersect multiple targets from the same main well bore, how wells can be drilled using smaller diameter piping in the wells, how drilling can be done using techniques that minimize the amount of drilling fluid, and drilling fluid systems that generate less waste.
