With the enhancement of environmental consciousness. nowdays many more environmental regulations limiting or banning the discarge of various types of drilling fluids and associated drill cuttings globally. The drilling contractors started to utilize "zero discharge" or "ship to shore" drilling operations. In these operations drill cuttings and associated waste fluids are collected on the rig in cutting boxes and then sent back to shore for disposal or treatment prior to disposal. even where the discharge of drill cuttings offshore is still allowed. there is often now a requirement to collect and transport drill cuttings on the rig for secondary process such as vertical cutting dryer that reduce the volume of drilling fluid associated with cuttings prior to discharge.
The screw conveyor is a simple way to transport drill cuttings which from shale shaker to a discharge port. It is achieved by the use of a scroll ( auger) which is rotated inside through by an electric motor. GN utilize a custom designed and constructed screw conveyor as part of drilling waste management system. The auger is designed with 12 feet per section which makes it to be standard spare parts for exchange with each other. The screw material utilized by GN is abrasive material which lasts longer than our competitors. The screw conveyor is designed to offer an efficient, low cost, cuttings transport system for offshore and onshore drilling installations. The screw conveyor are manufactured to the highest safety standards and are fitted with protective grating or cover to prevent foreign bodies entering the conveyor system, and to offer enhanced safety for all personnel.
