Algeria is Arabic country with lots of land drilling rigs. Even the oil price is going down and going up slowly, Algeria still have some drilling rigs working every day. The client bought the centrifuge to work with 16 drilling rigs. Already one year past, the client is very happy with the working performance.

Solids control service contractors around the world are all use the rectangular drilling fluid circulating tank because the installation and migration performance of the system works very well. Meanwhile, no matter how good the mud agitator perform in ideal situation, the drilling fluid tank all have corners that mud agitator's propellers cannot reach and stir. In order to resolve this issue, install the mud gun in the top of the tank to agitate the far corner of the mud tank.

Mud gun serve as supportive machinery to the mud agitator.  It comes with nozzle that either made fixed angle or 360 degree ration angles the positive spray-effect distance of mug gun is approx. 3 meters long.   The gun size is related with drilling fluid density, viscosity and nozzle spray speed.  Mud gun is installed the top of mud tank can be need adjusted as need at any time. Drilling mud is a wet mud like substance resembles like thick clay and is used to keep the drill head in controlled-temperature and carry the remnants of drilling cutting to the surface in water and oil or gas drilling operations. The mud is recycled and reused by passing it through several steps of filter and cleaning by screens of the shale shaker or mud cleaner and decanter centrifuge as it is circulated into the mud tanks then back to the drill well on the drilling rig. In order to keep the mud as liquid-liked as possible, a mud gun and mud agitator is used to keep the tank agitated and mixed.  Drilling mud is made by mixing water or oil with a clay-like substance and also other chemicals.

GN TBM Slurry Separation Plant

Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) also known as a "mole", is a machine used to construct the tunnel by excavating material in front of the TBM,behind which concrete segments are installed. Slurry Separation plant is used to separate the excavated material from the bentonite slurry. Slurry separation plant is the central facility where the bentonite slurry coming from the TBM is treated and recycled. It is then fed back to the header tank through the slurry circuit to TBM. The configuration of the slurry separation plant have to be tailored to both the actual volumes generated and also the types of soil being excavated. The prevailing ground conditions presented an enormous challenge not only for the tunnelling operations but also for slurry separation.

Working procedures of GN 240m3/h Slurry Separation plant:

1. The raw slurry (After Drilling) feed to Slurry separation system by a slurry pump from TBM.

2. In the first phase the slurry passes over scalping 2xGNZS703 Shale Shakers to remove larger particles. es. Solids Size≥0.8mm will be removed from the fluids.
  The 2xGNZS703 Shale Shaker is fixed with 20 mesh shaker screens.

3. The slurry with solids size≤0.8mm, with the above particles removed drops into an isolated section of the tank(1rst Compartment of 1# Recycling Tank) where it is picked up by the 1rst SB8x6-13 centrifugal pump.

4. This pump moves the slurry to the second phase, which is the De-sanding phase.

5. Here the slurry is pumped through the de-sanding Hydro-cyclones(2x10 inch desander cones which is mounted over GNZJ703 Mud Cleaner), which removes the solids above the 75 micron size.

6. The overflow from these hydro-cyclones drops into a second isolated tank section((2nd Compartment of 1# Recycling Tank), while the underflow is deposited onto vibrating screens for drying of the solids.

7. The slurry, which now has solids removed above 75 microns is picked up from this tank section((2nd Compartment of 1# Recycling Tank) by a second SB8x6-13 centrifugal pump and pumped through a bank of de-silting hydro-cyclones(16x4 inch de-silter cones which is mounted over GNZJ703 Mud Cleaner) to remove the solids passed by the de-sanding hydro-cyclones. This phase removes solids down to the 25 micron size. Again the overflow from the de-silting hydro cyclones drops into the third tank section(1st Compartment of 2# Mixing Tank), while the under flow is deposited onto vibrating screens for drying.

8. The now “cleaned” fluid is in the the third tank section(1st Compartment of 2# Mixing Tank).

9. The Separated skid SLH150-50 Jet Mud Mixer is connected by pipe with 2# Mud Mixing Tank.Which can be used to adding chemicals, bentonite and preparing new slurry for TBM.

GN Slurry Separation System for Solids Control in Microtunneling.

 Microtunneling (MT) can be described as a remotely controlled, guided pipe jacking process that provides continuous support to the excavation face. It can be used for installing conduits beneath roadways in a wide range of soil conditions, while maintaining close tolerances to line and grade from the drive shaft to the reception shaft. The Microtunneling process is a cyclic pipe jacking process. 

 There are two types of MT methods: slurry type and auger type. In the slurry type method, slurry is pumped to the face of the MTBM. Excavated materials mixed with slurry are transported to the driving shaft, and discharged at the soil separation unit above the ground. In an auger type method, excavated materials are transported by the auger in the casing, and directly discharged on the ground.However, the auger type MT is not popular these days. Dredged Slurry Separation Process

(1)The dredged slurry enters the slurry separation system directly from the dredge.
(2)In the first phase the slurry passes over scalping shale shakers to remove deris and larger particles.The debris include: grass,roots,leaves,cans.plastic,rags and bottles.Solids Size  ≥0.41 mm will be removed from the fluids.
(3)The slurry with solids size ≤0.41mm. with the above deris removed drops into an isolated section of the tank where it is picked up by a centrifugal pump
(4)This pump moves the slurry to the second phase,which is the Desanding phase.the slurry is pumped through the desanding hydrocyclones,which removes the solids above 75 micron
(5)The overflow from these hydrocyclones drops into a second isoloated tank section,while the underflow is deposited onto vibrating screens for drying the solids.
(6)The slurry,which now has solids removed above 75 microns is picked up from this thank section by a second centrifugal pump and pumped through a bank of desilting hydrocyclones to remove the solids passed by the desanding hydrocyclones. This phase removes solids down to 25 micron.Again the overflow from the desilting hydrocyclones drops into the third tank section. while the underflow is deposited onto vibrating screens for drying.
(7)The now"cleaned" fluid is picked up by the thrid centrifugal pump to be transported to a point designated by the client.
(8)If want to separate fine particle,the next stage can use centrifuge.
